Thailand Wedding Favours

As in other parts of the world, giving and receiving gifts plays an important part in a Thai wedding. It is a Thai wedding tradition that the bride and groom provide each guest with a small souvenir of their special day, known as ‘khong chamruey.’ It is also traditional to give special gifts to respected elders on both sides of the family.

To add unique meaning to your wedding, Creative Events Asia are proud to be able to offer a very special selection of handmade souvenirs, crafted from the hands and hearts of local community groups and inspiring independent artisans from around Thailand. These beautiful products will not fail to charm your wedding guests, while directly supporting local Thai producers and helping to sustain Thailand’s artistic traditions. We have partnered together with our friends at the Family Tree www.familytree-huahin.com and heres just a selection of what we are offering.

Joyful Thai Elephants, hand-carved from naturally fallen teak.
These elephants glow with exuberant and playful joy. Each of these miniature gentle giants is hand-carved by our friend, Uncle Daeng, a native carpenter from Chiang Mai, who carves each elephant with sincere care and attention to detail. Uncle Daeng does not cut trees, using only teak which has fallen naturally in the forest.

Tea-scented pillows These colorful, miniature, tea-scented pillows are nice to freshen up your wardrobe or car. They are made by a group of tea farmers in Mae Aon, Chiang Mai, who developed the pillows as a supplementary occupation.

Handmade ceramics
Each piece of ceramic is hand-made by a friendly Thai couple, who seek inspiration from Thai earth, flora, fauna. and artistic traditions. Working at home, Khun Koi and Khun Oh only produce about 100 pieces of pottery per month, in order to ensure each piece is unique and to limit impact on the environment.
