4. Khao Yai – About two hours by car from Bangkok, Khao Yai is a mountainous area with verdant landscapes, pristine air and Thailand’s largest national park. The latter is wonderful for hiking, exploring dramatic waterfalls, bird watching and wildlife spotting (elephants, gibbons, gaur, deer and more).
